![]() ![]() Spoiler alert coming up so leave now if you want to watch the horrible excuse for a movie. But this movie just completely takes the ending and throws it out the window. The book has it where it can have a sequels for the series. The movie, however, has more like a loving brother sister relationship.īut the worst part of this is the climax. She is the never breaks the rule person and they have sibling arguments and they really can’t stand each other. In the books she is younger and is way smarter than her brother. ![]() The second part that’s completely off from the book is his sister named, Georgia. This movie has him nothing more than a nuisance to Rafe. First off, in the book series the bully named Miller is making Rafe’s life miserable and eventually causes a fight between them. However, they keep some things the same for the plot. Now I know most movies step away from the original story line from their books. Also the entire movie is different from the book’s storyline. Literally that man when I saw him, I didn’t realise until the scene were he proposed to Rafe’s mom that he was Carl. The reason why this is bad is because his main characteristic in the book is to be mean. First off, the character Carl (aka Bear) in the movie is so much nicer than in the book. This is a 14 year old's opinion: This is an utter disgrace to James Patterson for the original book. Would recommend and all four of the kids really enjoyed it :) It's hard to find movies that aren't a complete bore to watch with the kids, so this was a winner in my book.Īwesome soundtrack, sweet and wholesome light romance, funny but not too gross potty and slapstick humor, and not really any swearing. I was uncomfortable with the young girl taking the car for a joyride, but its not enough to put me off the movie. There were a few moments could have done without, like the "hot" stepmom mention, and the step dad chasing after the waitress but overall they kept everything very PG. I loved the style of bringing the drawings to life and mixing the reality with imagination. Understandably, this might be difficult to watch for kids that have lost loved ones so good to keep that in mind. I didn't see the sixth sense plot twist coming, but felt it added to the story line and character depth. The tween love interest was smart, caring, ambitious and interesting (not just pretty). The main characters were all really likeable and there were a likeable bunch of adult actors I recognised. I really enjoyed watching this movie with my 9yo and 7 yo daughters plus 8yo niece and 11yo nephew.
